WYSIWYG

(wĭz’ē-wĭg’) —can you pronounce that?  do you know what that means?  Dictionary.com defines this term as “computer programmer’s acronym from what you see is what you get.”

We have all grown up knowing that we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover and we have also heard that actions speak louder than words.  I believe what you see is what you get, based on the actions you see.  Think about it, we all could sit around and talk about how good we are and how much we do for other people and how compassionate we are….BUT, our actions truly define our character, our values, and our desires.  How many times have you seen those who profess to be  ”Christians” (this isn’t a bash christian session, just a thought) really do something stupid and screw it up for the rest of us.  I’m not talking about someone SLIPPING UP and doing something stupid, I’m talking about a “christian” practicing the act of being stupid…..like the person who says they believe the bible and love the Lord yet go against what He says in his word….like the one who stands on the street corner screaming at you through a bullhorn telling you that you will end up in hell, condemning you for whatever; instead of just loving you!

How about churches?  How many times have you sat through services and heard a good talk but never witnessed the walk?  That’s enough said about the corporate body,  you get my drift.

How we are defined as Christians has to extend past our lips and into our lives.  How we are defined as a church has to extend past the pulpit and into the streets.  People aren’t stupid!!!  The average non-church goer would probably like to start seeing people live out what they say!  Just how I like for people to do what they say, those outside the church probably want the same thing.

WYSIWYG-What you see is really what you get when it comes to Jesus…..he didn’t come to sit around on his butt.  He is the miracle working messiah and he proved it here, here, here, here, here, and here.  I’m also glad at some things Jesus said that should really be dictating how we live our lives….ck them out here, here, and here….the list could go on and on…

So today you have learned a new word, WYSIWYG (wĭz’ē-wĭg’)—so, if what you see is what you get…..what do people get from you?
