You know usually when you start a new job you will have some type of orientation or training or at least a period of you familiarizing yourself with your new surrounding…I guess even in ministry you have that type of thing as well..I mean today I spent it trying to get my office organized so that I can function….but this afternoon received a phone call at the office about a student who was being life-flighted to Scottish Rite…as I made my way to the hospital tonight I realized if there was ever a “job” where you hit the ground running, it’s the “job” of ministry….Even though I don’t know this student (I mean, i just got to the church today), I was still called by God to this church to minister these people….I do what I do because I care about people and I don’t have time to say, let me get situated and then I’ll be with you….God reminded me today that there is no “orientation” period…In ministry world, you hit the ground running…why??? because life happens, and people need you!
