I really have no idea what to blog about today…I’m thinking about this one question right now…
Why are people so wrapped up in the way things have always been done?
Any Ideas?

For me? Comfort. Security. Borderline nostalgia.
I love to change – I work at a church that is always changing – but there is still something about the past that is alluring.
There is also a fundamentally corrupt belief that “We can go back.” We can’t go back. Things change. People change. Even if we tried to go back, things would never be the same.
People who handle change well still feel the apprehension, but they don’t (as you say) get “wrapped up” in it. The tension doesn’t guide them, it guards them.

I feel ya…i guess i’m just wondering why people are unwilling to change to reach people? Why not try something new…I mean, if what is being done isn’t working, we can only go up right?

Brian I feel you too…i’ve been saying for a while that I’m going to do anything short of sin to reach people–that means changing methods when I have to…Perry Noble through a twist on that statement this past weekend, saying…”it’s going to make you uncomfortable”
